Emerging Worship
I've been thinking today about "emerging worship" and what it means - it's a term coined to describe a shift in today's culture and thinking that recognizes that worship is all about what we BRING to God instead of what we GET through a worship gathering or the things we do in ministry (that's a description in a nutshell only). I love this concept - it is entirely scriptural - our worship should always be simply a response to the majesty and beauty of God. Every form of our worship - not just music, but also our social justice and our obedience and ...... But "emerging"? Not really - at the most in the big picture we are re-emerging, I suppose. It is the very basic model in scripture of how our worship started (way back) and what our worship should always have been.

The little seeds I've been growing on my deck are "emerging" - coming up out of the soil for the very first time and growing into what their little seed DNA told them they were pre-destined to be. Although perhaps it feels as though we are emerging for the first time - perhaps for many of us we are recognizing the truth and necessity of this concept for the first time. And when it comes down to it, who cares what we call it, as long as we are starting to really get that God's majesty is worth our every thought and breath, and that when we gather together we are not just coming to a service as in a service station - to be serviced, but coming to offer our own service to the King of Kings, who is truly worthy of everything we could possibly offer, and more.

Finally Blogging
Well, I have finally caved to the overwhelming pressure of blogging (which I keep wanting to spell "blooging")!

With a little of God's grace, I'll have a few words to say once in a while that will bring His name a little more glory through this process. Here are the first: Praise the Lord! He is good and His love endures forever!
