BEAKER AND BEETHOVEN
This has nothing to do with anything, really, but if you're about my age, this will make you smile.

I miss the Muppet show..... This is absolutely hilarious. The middle top guy is my favourite. Make sure you watch the video through to the end.....

MOVING OVER THE WATERS
I recently decided to read through the Bible chronologically, since I've never done that before, and was therefore reading Genesis 1 (it's the generally accepted place to start a chronological reading - at the beginning....). I was struck by one small phrase in verse 2. It says, "The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. (NASB)"

In the NIV it says "hovering" over the waters, but I was reading in the NASB and the word "moving" really struck me. It was wild and untamed and full of motion and the scale of God - moving back and forth (as I pictured it) over the unformed waters of the earth - was massive. Moving, searching, deciding on what creative thing to do with this unformed void.

I think I am sometimes too passive or too limited in the way I picture God. I love the picture in my mind that "moving over the waters" invokes of this wild, creative, powerful, huge God. And I love the idea - an idea founded on pure truth, substantiated by the way that it has been proved in a thousand ways - that this wild, powerful God loves me. He loves me wildly, and creatively, and powerfully.

It's almost too much to fathom, if it had not been shown already to be true through the cross.
